APES Bloggers...

On Wednesday, my AP Environmental Science Students will be creating current events blogs which will allow them to stay up to date on the most current news events going on around and about our world! Along with that, they will be adding feeds to their current Bloglines accounts, including THIS one!!

Okay, I'll admit it...usually I scan right over some of the forwarded stuff my friends and family send me...but I had a few minutes and was 'cleaning out' my inbox when I came across this post. As a teacher, one of the best compliments I can receive is seeing a student succeed after he or she overcomes his or her OWN lack of confidence or ability. First day of...the rest of your life??

As I sit here at my school computer (yes, it's nearly dark outside!) at the end of what is turning into the longest first day of school EVER, I'm feeling good about the first day, even though the work I did makes me feel like it's my first year teaching!! Hopefully all of the preparation will be worth it in the long run!! APES students have started their lettuce seeds, so we're off and running...countdown to the APES exam can begin..........NOW!

Edublogging....

With the start of the school year right around the corner, what a better time to than NOW to start my very own 'edublog' (education + blog ....get it?)!!! With a little blog reading and VERY little blog writing under my belt, I am ready to use this as a tool to keep myself and my students up to date with what's going on in Planet Pata!!!
